Why should we turn our records over to a professional manager? Some key factors: Frees up high cost space, out sourcing allows companies to focus on what they do best, provides off site backup, higher level of security.
Can we use our own boxes for records storage?
Yes, as long as they are "industry standard" sized boxes in good condition. In addition, we sell boxes that are made specifically for the storage and transportation of records. The majority of records are stored in 1.2 cubic foot boxes or 2.4 cubic foot boxes. These sizes are designed for maximum utilization of space as well as ease in handling. OSHA recommends the usage of 1.2 cubic foot containers.
I've got everything boxed up and ready for pickup, do I need to do anything else?
First, make sure you've taken an accurate and thorough inventory of everything in each box and have documented it on our transmittal form or a computer spreadsheet. We ask that you do this because each box will inventoried and given a bar-code so its location can be tracked within our warehouse. You can go online and view your documents and add additional information of the inventory remember, the more information you provide makes finding particular documents fast and easy.
What is the difference between a Records Management Company and a Document Storage Company?
Some document storage companies appear very willing to store your records but less willing do anything else with them. Here at Arkus Records Management our procedures demand that we enter a review date for every box of records that we take custody of. At anytime we can issue a report which allows clients to take informed decisions on information review, retention or destruction in the light of changing legislation.
How are my records stored?
